Answer : India is enormous in size, as we discussed it is the 7th largest country in the world in the terms of landmass.
The total area of India is 3.28 million square km. India also accounts for 2.4% of the area on the globe, with a land boundary of 15,200 km and the coastal boundary that includes the islands is 7,516 km.
2.Which countries form Indian sub continent ? Why is it called so?
Answer : India is known as a subcontinent because India stands out distinct unlike other countries.
It's just like a continent but smaller than that, and Indian subcontinent is not just our country but also including Pakistan,Sri Lanka,Bangladesh,Nepal,Bhutan.
It has a unique and distinctive culture.
3.What is the latitudinal and longitudinal extent of India?
Answer : India is a vast country. Its main land extent between 8⁰ 14 'N latitudes.The north south extent of the main land of India is about 3214 km, located at 6⁰14'N latitude.the longitudinal extend of india is between 68⁰7'E and 97⁰25' E.thus, its longitudinal extent is 29⁰. The east - west extent of the country is about 2993 km.

4.How do the Eastern Coastal plains differ from the Western Coastal plains.
Answer :.a.The East Coast plain runs smoothly from the north to the south with a broad plain and level surface
b.Whereas the West Coastal plains also run from the north to the south and it is in some places intersected by the mountain ridges.
c. The large rivers make wide deltas on the Eastern Coastal Plains while a few rivers run towards the western coastal plains as Tapti Narmada.
