To honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters in the struggle of independence in colonial India and the gallantry of armed forces and the civilians of India the government of India has introduced Veer Gatha Project through out the nation. In this regard the Central Board of Secondary Education has initiated Veer Gatha Project in the CBSE affiliated schools and the schools owned by them state governments. The Veer Gatha project is a way to honour and remember the Gallantry Award winners. It was launched on the occasion of the Amrit mahotsav .The motive of the Veer Gatha initiative is to spread awareness about the Gallantry Award winners among school going students.
